Michael Levine

Crafting music for Film, TV & Advertising

LA film, TV and games composer with an impressive list of collaborations

The story behind the sound

Michael Levine began his composing career in advertising with the classic Kit Kat candy bar “Gimme a Break” jingle, but it was his virtuoso talents as a violinist that earned him the nickname ""The Jimi Hendrix of the violin." He co-produced and arranged Lorde’s cover of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” and he’s performed with Joe Jackson, Lenny Kravitz, and Marianne Faithfull. Michael has provided additional music and violin to Hans Zimmer scores including “Dunkirk,” “The Simpsons Movie,” and “Batman: The Dark Knight“ and earned eight ASCAP awards for his work on the Jerry Bruckheimer/CBS dramas “Cold Case” and “Close to Home.” Michael has also garnered two Clio awards, an NEA grant, a Meet The Composer grant, and a Massachusetts Arts Foundation grant.
